Hola! Hope you are all keeping cool in this heat!

Unfortunately, we are not in school because of the weather. I’ve planned some activities for you to complete on Wednesday and Thursday. Any work you complete can either be brought into school on Friday, uploaded to Google Classroom or emailed to me on HWB. Most of what I have set is revision so you should be able to complete it without too much difficulty. Do what you can but DON’T WORRY if there’s something you don’t understand or if it is too tricky as we will go over everything in school.    Keep safe and I will see you in school on Friday!

Summer Term 2026

This term our topic will be;

Around the World in 80 Days

We will be learning about;

*Spain-location, history, culture, food, dance etc

*Reading and writing poems, diaries, reviews etc

*Flowering plants 

*Using instruments to accompany music.

*Creating an outfit using recycled materials

*Following a playscript to perform a play

*Using framing for effect in digital photography

Spring Term

This term our topic will be;

Knights, Castles and Dragons

In this project the children will:

*Investigate famous Welsh knights and dragon legends.

*Explore how castles shaped local communities.

*Discuss how communities solve problems and keep peace.  

*Learn about justice and peace/how did knights and communities resolve conflict?

*Read stories set in Wales

*Study the spread of castles across Wales and into the wider world.

*Explore  stories about rights, rules, protest and cooperation (e.g. castle sieges, defending rights).

*Investigate castle life in Wales. 

Explore the concepts of 'Power, Protest and Co-operation' (Who had it?/How was it used?/How did people stand up for their rights?)

Please remember to bring your reading book into school regularly with a signed comment in the yellow reading record. As your child moves further along the reading scheme, books take longer to read. So even if your child hasn’t finished the book, please write a comment so we know that they are reading regularly at home.

P.E. will be on Fridays. Please remember to come to school in appropriate kit and remove all jewellery please.
